Sweet pongal or sarkkarai pongal is prepared especially in Tamilnadu during festival called pongal [mahara sankaranthi in other states]
to thank sun and agriculture for making the harvesting successful. We cook this pongal with first rice harvested freshly from land and
dedicate to sun [ surya bhagavan ]. Try this recipe as this is very healthy and nutritious as it is prepared with jaggery and moog dal
